Yesterday I did a little experiment at the office - I've had my eye on a pair of mugs sitting on Matt's desk. They'd been sitting there a LONG time, unwashed since their last use. They both had white interiors, with a good layer of dried coffee & milk. The top dishwasher rack was pretty empty, and I was curious to see how good a job Ecover Automatic Dishwashing Powder could really do. So I nicely went around and collected all the day's mugs - and Matt's old ones - and filled up the rack.
The dishwasher was loaded with the Cascade rinse agent that came with it, and I added the Ecover in the main detergent department, and spilled a little over into the "it's really dirty and needs extra soap" space. I ran it on the regular cycle and waited to see the results.
Those dirty mugs came out pristine. Shiny white.
