The end of an era

Monday was a truly momentous day in the Heittman household:  we cancelled our cable TV.  I remember growing up with just the minimum channels, jealous of my friends who got their MTV (I especially felt I was missing out on watching Remote Control, but that's another story), and was addicted when my roommates & I ordered cable at our college apartment.

We're taking a new approach of saving some green and are trading our monthly cable bill for free downloads from the likes of Hulu and network channels.  Plus, we picked up an Apple TV for fun. We have good connectivity at the house, and it's working great so far.  At the moment, I'm enjoying the first episode of Twin Peaks.  I'd forgotten how scary BOB was, and am reminded why Ray Wise is so amazing now in Reaper!

Considering that I won't have a cable box on full time anymore, in addition to saving some cash, this should hopefully cut down our electric bill a little, too.
